About

Engineer by trade, Cape Codder at heart.

For two decades I've built websites and systems for organizations large and small — always with the same goal: bridging the gap between technical work and the real business goals behind it.

The work

Two decades, one throughline.

I'm Director of Build Engineering at Kanopi Studios, where I lead a team of Drupal and WordPress engineers. We've built award-winning sites for the Exploratorium, UCSF, FlySFO, Hamilton Education Program, and Flagler College.

On the open source side, I'm a Drupal CMS Committer, Track Lead, and Advisory Board member. I maintain the Recipes and Default Content subsystems in Drupal core, and I coordinate the Drupal Recipes Initiative. I lead SEO functionality in Drupal CMS.

I've spoken at DrupalCon North America, Open Camps at the United Nations, Drupal Camp Northern Lights, Bay Area Drupal Camp, WordCamp Chicago, WordCamp for Publishers, Twin Cities Drupal Camp, DrupalCorn, and Texas Camp.

The Cape

On the water, off the clock.

I've been in West Dennis, Cape Cod long enough to call myself a washashore. My partner Vanessa and I are Airbnb Superhosts — we host two well-kept places near the water, and it suits us.

Off the keyboard, you'll find me shellfishing the tidal flats, making pizza and pasta by hand, doing DIY projects around the house, or walking the beach at low tide when the light is good.

The local AI work I do for Cape Cod businesses is an extension of the same thing I've always done — taking technical work and making it useful for real people.
